So, my dreams came true like my saying says at the top. As I was a little girl I remember my mom going out to our purple grape vines that we had on the side of our house. She would pick them and make Grape Juice. I remember the smell it would make through our house when I would walk in from school and see her in the kitchen putting grape juice in jars. I was always so excited to watch her do it . It truly has kept some memories in my life all these years. As I have gotten older I have wanted to make grape juice and learn how to do it. I never thought I would be able to do it because I didn't' have any grape vines and I didn't know of anyone who had any that would let me pick a bushel full. So, I thought I will never get to do this.
I was talking to my friend that I visit teach how I have always wanted to do grape juice all these years now. She kept her mind open for me. She called me last night and said hey Liz I know someone in our ward that would like someone to come pick the grapes and take them because they want to get rid of them. I was going out of mind thinking really ME. So, I called this dear lady in my ward that had the grape vines and she told me to come over right then. I was so excited that I got on the phone with my mom and said, mom I am going to go pick grapes right now. She said I will come pick them with you.
I am so excited to make Grape Juice with my mom tomorrow. The elderly people I picked them from were so nice. I went home with three bowls full and about four boxes of grapes. We have some purple grapes and some white grapes. So, we are going to make both kinds. I can not be happier that this has come up in my lifetime.
They even sent us home with plums from their plum tree. So, they told us that they are good dried. So, we are going to make a full day of that too. Trying something new. We are going to dry some plums and Apples. I have to say thank you to my mom for helping my do this and letting meuse her older steamer to make the grape juice. I had to share my happy story with you.

I am surrounded by grape juicers! :) My sis-in-law and her sister have both been making grape juice this week. :)
I kid you not, they both have plum trees too and they have said that when you juice plums, it tastes like grape juice also!!! You'll have to try it if you're not too pooped after the grapes.
I'm glad you're so happy! Childhood memories are so great to relive.
